Siam Paragon, reaffirming its position as a ‘global destination’, one of the top-of-mind destinations among Thais and international tourists from all over the world, is celebrating Chinese New Year 2023 to welcome the Year of the golden Rabbit with a grand celebration “Siam Paragon the Grand Celebration of Golden Prosperity 2023,” which will take place from today to 29 January, 2023. The opening on 20 January was set at Parc Paragon with a presence of Thailand’s top actress Patchrapa ‘Aum’ Chaichua and Nattawin ‘Apo’ Wattanagitiphat in exquisite jewellery sets from Blue River worth nearly 100 million baht.

Siam Paragon’s Lunar New Year festivities also highlights an exquisite dance performance from China named “Zhi Shi Qing Lu” (只此青绿) which means “Indigo Green Mountains” by Dingyi Dance Troupe (鼎艺舞蹈艺术团) from Guangdong Province. Featured also are a blessing golden dragon and lion dance. Visitors can also worship a replica of the Tian Tan Buddha statue from Hong Kong. A line-up of Thai and global artists is joining the grand celebration including the duo Thanawat ‘Bom’ Uthaikitwanit and Atiwat ‘Tar’ Saengtien, Krit ‘PP’ Amnuaydechkorn,Metawin ‘Win’ Metawin Opas-iamkajorn, and top global boy band WayV,

Siam Paragon the Grand Celebration of Golden Prosperity 2023,” set at the centre of Bangkok’s most vibrant area – Siam, features remarkable highlights including:

  • Exquisite dance performances from China. Today -22 January, 2023 

The first highlight is a dance show by the legendary Dingyi Dance Troupe (鼎艺舞蹈艺术团) from China’s Guangdong Province called “Zhi Shi Qing Lu” (Indigo Green Mountain) which features the elegance of women’s dancing movements. The performance is inspired by one of the top ten ancient Chinese paintings, Qian Li Jiang Shan Tu (A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains), created by a Northern Song Dynasty master painter named Wang Ximeng. Because of his usage of green and blue from natural minerals, this painting differs from traditional black and white paintings.

This ensemble has been invited to perform at major national events, including the National Television Station CCTV’s New Year’s Eve celebration. This show will be held at Parc Paragon of Siam Paragon from today – 22 January, 2023, stage twice a day, between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. 

Featured also are golden dragon and lion dances, demonstrations of Chinese culture and arts such as Chinese calligraphy, Chinese paper-cutting, live modern Chinese music, and Instagram-worthy installation arts in golden rabbit theme, which will last until January 29, 2023.

  • Great performances by Thai and global, today -23 January 2023 

From today – 23 January 2023, Parc Paragon will feature performances by Thai and international superstars. Admission is free. On January 21, meet and greet the duo Thanawat ‘Bom’ Uthaikitwanit and Atiwat ‘Tar’ Saengtien, On January 22, meet Krit ‘PP’ Amnuaydechkorn and Metawin ‘Win’ Metawin Opas-iamkajorn, On January 23, meet the top global boy band WayV, with the presence of KUN, XIAOJUN, HENDERY, YANG YANG and TEN, traveling straight to meet their Thai fans exclusively for this event.

  • Worship the replica of Hong Kong’s most famous and venerated Tian Tan Buddha image. Today – 24 January 2023 

The replica of the Tian Tan Buddha from Ngong Ping, Hong Kong, is the second highlight. Master Katha Chinabunchorn, a prominent Thai fortune-teller, travelled to Hong Kong to respectfully conduct an invitation ceremony so that the replica may be present in Bangkok for worshipers to pay tribute and pray for blessings. The surrounding area of the event also set in the ambiance of Ngong Ping Cultural Village, from today -24 January 2023 at Fashion Hall, 1 floor, Siam Paragon.

A limited number of consecrated mementos that have passed the ritual from Hong Kong will be given out to visitors for auspiciousness. Simply provide receipts for a minimum 1,000-baht purchase from participating retailers and services at Siam Paragon. Famed fortune-tellers and Chinese Feng Shui masters will also provide recommendations for the Year of the Rabbit, including Katha Chinbanchorn on 21 January, Pennueng Wongphudorn on 22 January and Toktak A4 on 23 January, from 16.00 -17.00 hrs.

  • Check your horoscope with prominent astrologers at “Siri Wattana Fortune-telling Week for The Disabled” Today – 22 January, 2023 

The Siriwattana Cheshire Foundation under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen is gathering 43 renowned fortune-tellers and astrologers from 16-22 January to showcase the finest of Chinese prophecy and a variety of astrology in the event “Siri Wattana Fortune-telling Week For The Disabled” at Crystal Court, 2 floor, Siam Paragon. Master Katha Chinabanchorn, a gypsy card expert; Feng Shui Master Kow Sung Kim; Master Naris Sahachatsiri, Thailand’s only Chinese chess fortune teller; Master Panupong Techakavanichka, a Chinese astrology and feng shui expert; and Master Aek, who proficient in advanced Chinese astrology and feng shui; are among them.
